Sorry I haven’t posted much in a while. I’ve been busy with life.
Today’s my Friday. Since I took Monday off, it feels like this week flew by. Therefor it has been an awesome week. Syllogism at it’s finest there folks.

Dinner With A Gypsy (End Scene)
This was such an important album for me. Still one of my favorites.

You’re breathing life into brown paper bags
You set one down, so I took a drag
I can feel you in my lungs
Think my heart might jump the gun
Who would you like to hold on to
And who would you like to erase
Cause I can’t decide, my heart and my mind
They don’t think straight
He Is Legend - Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. (via letsrockandrollbaby)

this was/is my favorite song from he is legend.
I don’t know where I should begin
I’ve lost respect in all my friends
Just as I feel like a fake
Don’t you know it breaks
His eyes slowly open it changes the way he dreams
The skies, they conduct him
Don’t you know how this came about when he hugged the ocean
I think I should have tried again
Between the lines I caught his last grin
I think he knows he shook my heart
Around that time the preaching starts
Don’t you know it’s fake?
His eyes slowly closing
It changes the way I dream
I tried to conduct him
Don’t you know how this came about floating in the water
Should I stay awake?
Try not to lose my head?
It will be all right (but) it changes the way I dream
Love…love…
I’ve seen grey skies that turned to blue
And the way you smile when you tell me I’ll get through it
And I’ve seen that once before
And I’ve been left before
With nothing left to lose except my sanity
And I’ve seen that once before
And I’ve been left before
There’s nothing left to lose

This album made so much sense as a follow up to 91025. Don’t get me wrong, I actually liked Suck Out the Poison and It hates You, but SOtP just was such a completely and utterly different piece of work than I am Hollywood that it was like they formed a totally different band. Neither of this last albums were follow ups to 91025 and I am Hollywood.
Which if you knew He is Legend as The Uriah Omen before they changed their name and put out 91025 you would be more accustomed to the rapid and complete changes in musical styles between albums.
I can’t help but feel that a lot of the extreme backlash and anger that the band experienced for Suck Out the Poison wasn’t due to fans genuinely disliking the album, or not wanting to allow the band to experiment an grow musically. More to me I think it was out of disappointment and frustration that I am Hollywood had been such a perfect natural progression from 91025 that fans had been so desperately waiting for that next step in growth from I am Hollywood. An album that Suck Out the Poison was not, and that we never received.
I always find myself wondering when I listen to them, if He is Legend had put out that anticipated album between I am Hollywood and Suck Out the Poison, would things have turned out differently? Would they still be around?
Dinner With A Gypsy by He Is Legend
I thought I’d never see the day
When the clouds would roll away;
In pain and suffering,
bring the rain,
and bring the spring!
And don’t cry for me, dear,
I’m alive, and I’m right here.
I missed you so damn much then,
with no garden to tend.
I love this song so much. I love this album so much. I love this band so much.
